Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actress and television presenter. She is best known for her role as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her career in showbiz as a child. The actress was in lead roles in TV dramas as young at the age of 16. She was praised for her performance in Der Tunnel. This paved the way for more memorable performances, like Adolf Hitler's Secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominees featuring the divas. Alexandra was involved in a variety of notable international and national projects throughout the years. This includes the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French history mini-series Napoleon and many more. Additionally, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
